Man electrocuted by power lines on Western Cape farm

A man was killed and another seriously injured when their industrial vehicle came into contact with power lines near the R44 near Somerset West on Friday.

According to reports the men had been working on a farm at the time.

It is believed that the industrial vehicle they were in came into contact with power lines and they were electrocuted.

Reports further explain that upon arrival at the scene, paramedics found one of the men, believed to be in his 60s, in a critical condition.

Paramedics had to resuscitate him, however, despite all efforts to save the man, he died.

The second man, who is believed to be in his 20s, sustained multiple burn wounds. He was treated and transported to hospital for further medical care.
