The committee is due to finalise and approve its report, which recommends Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane to fill Thuli Madonsela's place when her term ends in October.

According to the parliamentary programme, the committee will then table the report to the National Assembly before it is considered on Wednesday the 7th September.

In their last meeting, political parties including the ANC, EFF, IFP and NFP recommended Mkhwebane to be the suggested candidate, while the DA reserved its comment on the issue.
