14 Injured as taxi rolls

This afternoon 14 people were injured when a taxi rolled on the N1 north after Malibongwe in Randburg.

Emergency services arrived on the scene and found the taxi lying on its side in the fast lane of the highway.

Several people were found walking around on the scene while one patient was found inside the taxi.

The patient was extracted from the vehicle and immediately assessed.

Further inspection showed that a total of 14 patients had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

The patients were treated and transported to hospital for further treatment.

The cause of this incident is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
