Western Cape Minister of
Community Safety, Dan Plato, will host a second safety meeting in Delft tonight
Spokesperson for Minister
Botha, says Tonight’s meeting is an extension of the public engagement from
last week which followed numerous complaints Minister Plato has received over
recent weeks regarding general safety in Delft with increased reporting of gang
and drug related crime and shootings.
Various stakeholders have been
invited to the meeting tonight, including the local police, Community Policing
Forum, Neighbourhood Watch, local councillors, religious leaders and community
leaders, to listen to the various grievances and to try and identify the root
causes for a situation which can never be accepted as normal.
