COPE National Spokesperson
Dennis Bloem says in a statement the National Director of Public Prosecutions
Shaun Abrahams is clearly just nothing but Mr Jacob Zuma's puppet.
When Abrahams was appointed
for the position, he said very bravely that he is nobody's puppet, but his own
man.
He at the same time assured
the country that he will perform his duties without any fear or favour.
Bloem says Congress of the
People is not surprised today when this puppet with no courage fails to tell Mr
Zuma and Minister Masutha that his Deputy Nomgcobo Jiba and Lawrence Mrwebi
were declared not fit to run the office by the Pretoria High court.
He says Abrahams is even
prepared to break the law for Zuma. He is afraid to tell Zuma that he doesn't
want to break the law by keeping Jiba and Mrwebi on the payroll following the
court's judgement.
COPE says it is a total
disgrace that instead of firing Jiba and Mrwebi, they are being put on special
leave he concluded.
