16 September 2016
The upcoming weekend of 17 – 18 September 2016 will be a bumper weekend in terms of events being hosted in the city.
All roads will lead to the city centre and Stadium Precinct.
Soccer fans are in for a treat and can look forward to some good action on the field when Cape Town City and Bidvest Wits go head-to-head in the MTN8 semi-final soccer game.
Gates will open at 18:15 and the match kick-off is at 20:30.
The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon, taking place on Saturday and Sunday, will start and finish in the Cape Town Stadium Precinct.
In addition, a home expo is being held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
Thousands of residents and visitors are expected to make their way to the city centre and Stadium Precinct to attend these events, which will result in increased traffic volumes.
All road users are therefore advised to please take note of the temporary road closures and to plan their trips accordingly.
