South Africa is warned of water shortage

Ken Terry, head of the National Disaster Management Centre, has warned that regardless of rains this summer, water will be scarce.

With water levels in the country's major dams just over 50% with a further 1% drop each week, Terry elaborated.

Flooding and droughts in many parts of the world are a result of climate change, this has led to the crucial implementation of improved disaster risk reduction systems.
