South Africa’s unemployment is a national emergency

According to the Congress of South African Trade Union, South Africa’s unemployment is a national emergency created by the failures of the National Treasury.
COSATU Spokesperson Sizwe Pamla says that COSATU has noted the statements coming from Minister of Finance Pravin Gordhan that the unemployment is a national emergency.
He says they actually agree with him with regards to that and it is a result of the Treasury’s policy.
According to Pamla what the Minister is doing is to deflect attention away from the fact that for the last 20 years the Treasury policy has done very little in terms of transformation and to structure the economy.
The structure of the economy has continued to side-line the majority of South African workers in particular from participating in the economy.
