Mother and son allegedly shot during altercation

A mother and her son were shot during an alleged altercation in Olivedale last night.

ER24 Werner Vermaak says,Upon arrival he found that an 18-year-old and his mother sustained gunshot wounds.

The 18-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to his face and his mother sustained a gunshot wound to her hand.

Both of them were in a serious condition at the time.

Police and private security companies also arrived on the scene.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not yet known.

However, the mother explained that they were apparently shot by a neighbour during an altercation.

The 42-year-old mother and her son were transported to a hospital in Fourways for further care.

The police will conduct an investigation into the exact circumstances.
