Woman killed in hit and run collision

A 40-year-old woman was killed in a hit and run collision yesterday afternoon.

Shortly before 4pm paramedics and other emergency services arrived on the R57 in Flora Gardens in Vanderbijlpark where they found the woman with fatal injuries.

It is understood that she was pulling a trolley with recyclable material when a vehicle struck her.

She was declared dead on the scene.

The incident was later handed over to the local police on scene for further investigation.

The driver and the vehicle that collided with the woman was not found on the scene.
