DROS RAPE TRIAL EXPECTED TO BEGIN THIS WEEK



The trial of Nicholas Ninow is set to resume this week. The Ninow trail has been ongoing since last year when a video circulated on the socials. The video showed a half-naked blooded Ninow after he had raped a little girl in a restaurant in Pretoria. The 22-year-old is accused of raping the 7-year-old in a Pretoria and is now expected to appear in court. Nicholas is facing a range of charges including kidnapping, assault and defeating the ends of justice. The trial has been ongoing for nearly a year with the case in and out of court ever since he was arrested in September last year. Today the trial is set to commence in the Gauteng High Court.

The court has been informed that the suspect is fit to stand trial after undergoing medical evaluation. He has since been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Apparently when then incident happened Nicholas Ninow was not on his right mind and has been taking treatment for his bipolar disorder. Claims say Nicholas injected himself with a mixture of drugs and was hospitalized. The department’s spokesperson, Singabakho Nxumalo, said Ninow reported himself to a health facility but denied allegations that it was related to an overdose of drugs.

Nicholas Ninow has pleaded guilty to rape early today when he appeared at The Magistrate Court in Pretoria. Ninow admitted that what he did was wrong and he apologizes for it. His plea was met with outrage from the spectators who where in court.The court has since called on its first witness, and employer who works at the Dros Restaurant where the alleged rape took place.
