THE BOKS IN CAPE TOWN



The newly crowned Rugby World Cup Champions had a massive tour around the country showcasing how happy they were with the support they got from the country. The Springboks on Monday on the 11 of November concluded the five-day tour in Cape Town where they were welcomed by a massive happy crowd. The Cape Town community came in large numbers to support the 2019 champions, people from all ages, race and even background came in unity.

Captain Siya Kolisi made a heart-warming speech at the City Hall thanking everyone on the support they got. One of the Springboks scrumhalf Herschel Jantjies was reported saying he was happy with the tremendous support they got from the whole country. Echoes of “Go Bokke” echoed throughout the whole CBD with the Springboks championship bus going around the CBD. People referred or rather compared the feeling to a festive atmosphere hinting that it was like December. Some workers took off to work and braved the heavy traffic flow to come see their sporting heroes.

Fans thanked the Boks for not only winning the Rugby World Cup but also for giving the country something to be proud of. The last stop was in Elsies River where locals were waiting for hours to see and celebrate with their heroes.
