Phase 2 of the vaccination will go ahead as planned

 Health Minister Zweli Mkhize has confirmed that phase 2 of the vaccination plan will go ahead as planned.

Minister Mkhize recently visited hospitals in Mitchells Plain to ensure theat they are prepared for phase 2, which begins next month.

The Health Department said that it is preparing to vaccinate 5.5 million people over the age of 60 by October. They are aiming to vaccinate as many people as possible before the possible third wave.

Phase two will start from mid-May until the end of October. During which they plan inoculating 16 million people.

Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said that all the paperwork and contracts with Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer had been concluded.
