Registration for COVID-19 vaccine goes live at 4p.m for over-60s

South African citizens over 60 years of age, who want to receive a Covid-19 vaccine will now be able to register through the Electronic Vaccination Data System (EVDS) from 4pm on Friday.

Health Minister Zweli Mkhize officially launched the Covid-19 Electronic Vaccination Data System on Friday morning.

“This launch marks a significant milestone not only for our vaccination campaign but for South Africa’s advancement towards Universal Health Coverage.’’

To register, citizens must have their ID, medical aid card and ensure they put in the correct cellphone number and residential address where they live. 

The launch forms part of the preparations for the second phase which is expected to start from 17 May to the end of October.

 

To register:

(1)  Go to the EVDS portal to register: https://vaccine.enroll.health.gov.za/#/

(2)  Follow the steps on the portal and complete your details.

(3)  You will receive a SMS to confirm your registration

(4)  When it is your turn to be vaccinated, you will receive a SMS informing you when and where you will be vaccinated.
