Mitchell's Plain blaze leaves 2 dead

Two people have died in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Woodlands, Mitchell’s Plain.

The City’s Fire and Rescue Services, Jermaine Carelse said that his team received a call just after midnight about a fire in Sandury Road.

Two Wendy houses were also destroyed and a motor vehicle damaged in the fire.

‘’When firefighters arrived, they found informal structures alight but managed to contain and extinguish the blaze at 01:42,’’ said Jermaine Carelse.

‘’The bodies of a man and a woman were found in one of the structures. Fire Service medics declared them deceased and the scene was handed over to the South African Police Service,’’ added Carelse.
