Cape Town police are probing the circumstances surrounding the death of a 2-year-old boy after he fell into a drain outside his home in Greenpoint, Khayelitsha, on Sunday.
The police’s Joseph Swartbooi said the incident happened at
about 14:20.
‘’According to reports the body of a 2-year-old was
discovered in a drain as it was believed the toddler fell into it. The victim
was declared deceased on the scene. A post-mortem will be conducted to determine
the cause of death," said Swartbooi.
Khayelitsha police have since opened an inquest docket for
further investigation.
