Woman Dies of Severe Burn Allegedly attacked by Partner
Jacqueline Mpontsana from Gugulethu Township has succumbed to her burned wounds after her boyfriend allegedly set her alight and left her with severe injuries.
Mpontsana was rushed to hospital Sunday evening where she
was confirmed dead Monday afternoon.
Cousin of the deceased, Luvuyo Ndzuzo said the passing of
Jacqueline has shattered the families’ hopes and dreams, as they did not expect
something like this to happen to her. She rallied behind issues concerning
gender based – violence to have died like this said Ndzuzo.
Police spokesperson colonel Andre Traut has said the
circumstances surrounding the murder of Jacqueline are being investigated and
that anyone with information regarding the case should contact Crime Stop on
