Loadshedding to be Implemented this Evening

Power Utility Eskom has said that to continue replenishing reserves it will be implementing Stage 2 loadshedding this Evening from 9pm till 5am

The utility said that this was to replenish emergency generation reserves which were depleted faster than expected due to further breakdowns.

Spokesperson Sikonathi Manshantsha: said that"Should the emergency generation reserves not recover sufficiently, it may be necessary to continue load shedding during the day and over the weekend."

While Eskom expects a number of generating units to return to service from breakdowns during the course of the next few days, they urge the public to reduce the usage and to continue using electricity sparingly to assist in avoiding loadshedding.
