Three matric pupils deceased in Garden Route crash

Three matric pupils, aged 18, died in a car accident on 3 December, following the end of matric exams.

The pupils, Conrad Meiring, JG Greyling and Stiaan Grobler, were from Hoërskool Ben Viljoen in Limpopo.

The accident occurred near the Maalgate Bridge on the N2 between Glentana and George.

Another person involved in the accident survived, having sustained injuries in the crash. It’s understood that the individual walked to the George police station to seek help and received medical assistance at a local hospital.

Further details on the accident have not yet been disclosed.

To honour the passing of the three pupils, Hoërskool Ben Viljoen will be holding a wreath-laying ceremony at the school, according to the school’s Facebook page.
