Yanga Endrey Nyalara finally arrested
A wanted suspect who managed to evade his arrest for a long time appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate’s court on 4 July
Yanga Endrey Nyalara also known as Bara was arrested last week where he was caught with two other females in possession of drugs in Bothasig with an estimated value of R 90 000.
Bara faces 31 charges, including six murder cases where a total of 19 people had lost their lives during last year in Khayelitsha. He also has been charged with the Prevention of Organised Crime Act, attempted murder, robbery, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition as well as dealing in drugs.
Police Minister, Bheki Cele and the Western Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Thembisile Patekile both attended the court proceedings and praised the SAPS members who pursued every avenue to ensure that Nyalara gets his day in court.
‘’SAPS would like to express their appreciation to the public for providing valuable information and assisting us to create a safer environment for communities by removing ruthless criminals from our streets,’’ said Colonel Andrè Traut.
The case has been postponed to 18 August 2022
