Wallacedene Clinic temporarily closed due to alleged vandalism at its substation

The Wallacedene Clinic is temporarily closed due to alleged vandalism at its substation

In a statement, the City of Cape Town says the clinic does have a generator on site, however this is undergoing maintenance and repairs.

‘’City Health is in talks with Eskom as well as the City's Asset and Facility Management Department and the Electricity Generation and Distribution Department, to ascertain how long it will likely take for them to address the cause of the electricity disruption, which is said to be linked to a severely vandalised substation,’’ said Mayco Member for Community Services and Health, Patricia Van der Ross.

Clients are asked to visit their nearest alternative health facility, such as the Bloekombos, Brighton, Brackenfell or Northpine Clinics. Van der Ross said Clients on HPT and ARVs are requested to report to Bloekombos Clinic to access these services.

‘’The City apologises for any inconvenience caused and would like to reassure the public that this matter is receiving urgent attention, to allow the clinic operations to resume as soon as possible,’’ she added.
