A man has died and five others injured when a car collided with a minibus taxi and bakkie on the N1 near Tousrivier on Thursday morning.
According to the Western Cape’s Mobility Department
spokesperson, Jandre Bakker, it’s alleged that the car overtook another vehicle
and collided with the minibus taxi and bakkie.
‘’The incident occurred at approximately 04:40. One male
person died in the crash, one seriously injured, one person suffered moderate
injuries and three others sustained slight injuries.’’
‘’Provincial traffic, SAPS, Emergency Medical Services, are
all on the scene and a stop-and-go system is in place, Road users can expect
delays in the area as the scene is being cleared.
‘’We urge motorists to be patient on the roads and only
overtake when its lawful and absolutely safe to do so. Always take a cautious
approach and heed the barrier lines,’’ added Jandre Bakker, Head of
Communication at Western Cape’s Department of Transport and Public Works.
