3 killed, including a teenager, in mass shooting in Bishop Lavis

Western Cape police are probing a mass murder after three people were killed in Nooitgedacht in Bishop Lavis on Wednesday morning.

The police’s Andre Traut said the circumstances behind the killing of the two females aged 46 and 54 and a 13-year-old boy, in Marlin Street, is yet to be determined.

‘’According to reports, all three victims sustained fatal head injuries and it is yet to be determined if they were shot or assaulted,’’ said Colonel Andre Traut.

Any person with information is requested to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or use the mobile application My SAPS.

Meanwhile, the Western Cape’s Police Oversight & Community Safety MEC, Reagen Allen, has condemned the incident.

‘’The mass killing incident in Bishop Lavis is deeply disturbing… The Law Enforcement Advancement Plan (LEAP) officers are also deployed in the area, & both entities along with all other law enforcement agencies should leave no stone unturned.’’

‘’These ruthless criminals do not belong in any of our communities. Those who committed this atrocity belong behind bars. As SAPS is investigating, I urge those who might have information about this incident to report it to any of the law enforcement agencies,’’ he added.
