Suspects involved in Kuils River shooting apprehended

Two suspects were arrested on Tuesday amid a shooting incident that occurred in Jan Van Riebeeck Road, Kuils River.

The City’s Wayne Dyason said officers responded to the scene and found a 22-year-old female who was apparently not the intended target and was hit by one of 3 bullets fired by the shooter.

“On 6 December, City Law Enforcement Undercover Unit officers teamed up with their uniformed colleagues of the Rapid Response Unit after they received information about a shooting incident that took place in Van Riebeeck Road,” Dyason noted.

He added that officers followed up on information of the shooter and another person being in a blue sedan and after searching the vehicle, found a firearm with two rounds in it.

Dyason said witnesses came forward and identified one of the males as the shooter.

The suspects were detained at the Kuilsriver police station.
