Missing man’s body recovered along Oubaai shoreline

NSRI Wilderness and NSRI Mossel Bay recovered the body of a man located in a rocky area in the surf along the shoreline on Thursday, while approaching Oubaai. The body is believed to be that of a missing man who had reportedly not returned from a walk the previous day.

The man’s body was recovered onto an NSRI rescue craft and brought to the NSRI Mossel Bay rescue station, where the Police and Government Health Forensic Pathology Services took it in.

NSRI Wilderness and NSRI Mossel Bay responded to Oubaai, Southern Cape on Thursday to assist Police, George Fire and Rescue Services, WC Government Health EMS and Oubaai Security in searching for the missing man.

A drone, a helicopter, as well as several NSRI crewmembers were deployed to assist emergency services in the search along the shoreline.
