Man who allegedly fatally stabbed a Grade 10 pupil in Brakpan, has abandoned his bail application

The 31-year-old man who allegedly fatally stabbed a Grade 10 pupil outside Geluksdal Secondary School in Brakpan, has abandoned his bail bid on Wednesday.

Ameeruddin Dino Prince appeared in the Tsakani Magistrate's Court for the murder of 18- year old Shaun Mphela on the 2 February.

It is alleged that three Grade 10 pupils used pepper spray on eight pupils during schooling hours.

The eight, including Mphela, confronted the trio, and they stopped.

Later when Mphela was headed home, he was attacked and stabbed outside the school, where he died.

Police arrested Prince on the same day and is still in police custody.

 According to the Gauteng NPA spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana the matter would continue on 24 March after a transfer to the regional court.
