Murder accused, Philip April given a life sentence for sliting woman thoat

A Western Cape high court handed a life imprisonment to murder accused, Philip April.

This is after a thorough investigation the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit, along with SAPS Warrant Officer Jannie Goeieman who was lauded for his outstanding investigation into Allison Plaatjies, murder.

According to Ndakhe Gwala the body of Allison as found in October 2019. This is after close acquaintances were concerned by her disappearance, before she was found in her place of residence with her throat was slit.

 “Her throat was slit with three different knives and her vehicle was missing. During the investigation, her vehicle was recovered from the accused, who was her boyfriend at the time. He pleaded guilty on the charge of murder but denied stealing the vehicle”, stated Gwala.

Philipi was also given five years for the theft of a motor vehicle.
