Suspects in connection of kidnapping an eight-year-old will appear in Wynberg Magistrate's Court

Six suspects will appear on Thursday in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court in Cape Town in connection with the kidnapping of an eight-year-old girl from Gatesville.

Abirah Dekta was kidnapped in November last year while she was on her way to school.

She was found a few days later in a shack in Khayelitsha. The accused are expected to apply for bail on Thursday.

They are facing various charges including kidnapping, attempted extortion and aggravated robbery.

Charges against two other defendants were withdrawn during the previous court appearance.
