84 Cape Town Motorists arrested for traffic-related offenses

No major accidents were reported in the Western Cape, by Sunday, as Cape Town Traffic Officers monitored the City's freeways and major routes as motorists were returning home from the Easter holidays.

Traffic officers have recorded a number of successes over the Easter long weekend, and these include 84 arrests for traffic related offences such as driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless or negligent driving.

A Traffic Officer working at a roadblock on the N7, close to the weighbridge, arrested a 27-year-old suspect on Sunday for being in possession of 10.4 kg of dagga. The suspect was detained at Philadelphia SAPS. PHOTO - CoCT: 10.4kg dagga confiscated close to N7 weighbridge
