A 3-year-old kid was killed by a relative while being cared for by grandmother

A toddler Olunje Bolisi was killed to death, allegedly by a relative.

The father Simlindile Pikwa, who lives in Wallacedene, Kraaifontein said he dropped the child at the Covid-19 informal settlement in Mfuleni when leaving for funeral to the Eastern Cape.

Accorfing to the toddler's 33-year-old father, the grandmother, who was watching him left him on a bed at a relative's house and It is alleged that the grandmother's ex-boyfriend, who she had a protection order against, told the cops that she and the relative killed Olunje.

Pikwa explained that, when he arrived at the scene, the child had already been taken by forensic officers.

Police said the circumstances surrounding the murder were still under investigation. However, they verified that a 50-year-old man had been detained in relation to the murder and will appear in court once he had been charged.
