TEENAGE BOY INJURED IN SHOOTING INCIDENT IN DELFT

A teenage boy was seriously injured when he sustained a gunshot wound to his back on Leiden Avenue in Delft on Wednesday morning. 

According to ER24, the 16-year-old was found by the side of the road when ER24 and another agency arrived on the scene. After medical personnel examined the boy, it was discovered that he had suffered severe injuries to his arm and back from gunshot wounds.

Medics treated the boy and provided him with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to a nearby hospital for further care.

Western Cape police confirmed the incident, saying it is allegedly gang related. 

"According to reports the 16 year old victim was walking on his way to school when he was approached by two unidentified suspects. One of the suspects pulled out a firearm and shot twice at the victim, wounding him in his right arm and right leg," says Police spokesperson FC van Wyk.
