6 killed in a bus crash earlier today in Mossel Bay

At least 6 people have died and several others seriously injured, when the bus they were traveling in collided with another bus, on the N2 between Mossel Bay and Voorbaai, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The Western Cape's Mobility MEC, Ricardo Mackenzie, said according to reports, it is alleged that one of the buses took a wrong turnoff leading it to move into oncoming traffic.

“We received reports early this morning of a fatal crash between two buses traveling on a national road, the N2 between Mossel Bay and Voorbaai. The cause will be investigated but at this stage preliminary reports suggest that one bus took an incorrect turnoff leading it to move into oncoming traffic, said Mackenzie.

Mackenzie said Forensic Pathology Services will be verifying all fatalities, but at this stage reports suggest at least 6 people died, and 32 were injured, some of them seriously.
