The accused serial rapist from Ekurhuleni is back in court

The accused 38-year-old Ekurhuleni serial rapist is expected back in the Daveyton Magistrate’s Court in Gauteng this morning.

The suspect faces 145 charges of rape, kidnapping, brandishing a firearm and sexual offences.

It is said that the suspect was also a security guard for the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa and a part-time law student.

The accused was arrested in January following intensive investigations from the police. His alleged crimes were committed from 2018 until January 15 this year, with victims as young as 14 and 15.

The National Prosecuting Authority’s Lumka Mahanjana says he has not yet pleaded to the charges.

“He is facing a total of 145 charges, 44 of those charges are rape, 43 are kidnapping, 41 are brandishing of firearm and other charges” said Mahanjana.
