Western Cape police are probing a case of murder after a 29-year-old man’s body was found in Rocklands, Mitchells Plain, on Saturday night.
The police’s Wesley Twigg said he was shot dead on the
corner of Sunderland and Lightning street.
‘’Police officers attending the scene found the victim with
gunshot wounds to his body. The victim was declared deceased on the scene by
paramedics. The unknown suspects fled the scene and are yet to be
arrested."
Twigg said the motive for the attack was gang-related.
According to the latest crime statistics (April - June 2023), Mitchell's Plain SAPS recorded the highest number of attempted murder cases in the Western Cape, with 46 cases in the reporting period.
