Health services will be transferred to Atlantis

The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness has announced the process of handing over services to clinics in Atlantis.

MEC Doctor Nomafrench Mbombo visited the clinics yesterday.

The visit followed complaints from the community about services that were not offered at the Saxon and Protea Park clinics.

The people stated that they had to go to City of Cape Town hospitals instead to get chronic medication for illnesses like diabetes and hypertension.

According to Mbombo, the department is committed to strengthening healthcare services in Atlantis.

“There are series that we have actually started. For example, the patients that normally go to the Hospital now will be able to go to the Protea Park and there is a full-time Doctor so that they can see the adult curative. Other aspect is that there will an advert so they can see this post and anyone else will be able to apply,” she added.
