Three suspects have been arrested in Krugersdorp after the police found them in possession of unlicensed firearms, housebreaking implements, and suspected stolen vehicles and false number plates.
According to the
police, members were doing patrols on Tuesday, when they noticed a
suspicious looking vehicle with four men inside.
As soon as they
saw police they sped-off and members called for back-up while they pursue the
vehicle. The suspects started shooting at the police which caused them to lose
control of the state vehicle.
The back-up
managed to corner the suspects and found them in possession of three unlicensed
firearms and ammunition. Upon searching the suspects' vehicle, members
found false registration number plates and house breaking implements.
The police Colonel
Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, said all three suspects were arrested with charges
including attempted murder, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, among
others and investigations are underway.
