The EE has been signed into law by President Cyril Ramaphosa in April 2023.

In a statement, the department said that the recently amended EE, workplace equity, affirmative action, and related matters will take place at the Portland Indoor Centre, situated on the corner of Merrydale Avenue & Hazeldene Street.

"The objective of the EE amendments is to reduce the regulatory burden for small employers, to empower the Minister to regulate the sector specific numerical EE targets, to promulgate Section 53, and to strengthen compliance, including the issuing of EE compliance certificates," said Sabelo Mali, Minister of Employment & Labour spokesperson.

As part of the programme, Mali said the department will offer services on the spot. This includes registration of Unemployed work-seekers under the Public Employment Services (PES); Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) claims and enquiries/complaints; Compensation Fund (CF) claims and enquiries/complaints; as well as Labour complaints related to the National Minimum Wage and other Basic Conditions of Employment.

The event is set to start from 08:30 until 16:00 on Friday
