Man accused of killing Mitchell's Plain scholar abandons bail application

The man accused of the murder of 12-year-old Firdous Kleinsmidt has abandoned his bail application.

27-year-old Lorenzo Brown made his second court appearance in the Mitchell's Plain Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 7 February.

The girl was caught in a crossfire between rival gangs in Beacon Valley, Mitchell's Plain, last week. According to reports, she was shot and killed by a stray bullet at the Ieglaasi Nieyah Primary School.

His case has been postponed until 28 March 2024 for further investigation.
