Self-confessed killer of Eerste River girl to appear in court

A 19-year-old who has been arrested and charged in connection with a girl’s death will make his second court appearance in the Blue Down Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

11-year old Monneashia Prins of Eerste Rivier was found dead in February 2024, after she was reported missing. Her body was found in a canal.

Mikaeel Oliver has been charged with abduction, rape and murder. According to media reports, the 19-year-old made a confession to police. He was arrested after Monneashia’s body was found on 9 February.

Oliver last appeared in court on 19 February 2024.

Authorities believe they have a strong case against him and the girl’s family as well as residents in Intemba Farm wants justice to be served.
