Investigation into cellphone evidence ongoing as Meyiwa murder trial resumes after break.

The Senzo Meyiwa murder trial resumes today, with cellphone evidence playing a central role. Vodacom forensic supervisor Pinky Vythilingham's testimony has linked the accused to locations and events around the 2014 killing.

Vythilingham's evidence has both verified and contradicted defendant's statements. Her data placed accused Bongani Ntanzi's phone at the crime scene, despite his denial. The records also supported a state witness but matched another accused's version.

As the trial reconvenes after a recess, the cellphone data analysis is expected to remain crucial to the state's case against the five charged with Meyiwa's murder.
