Roads are closed due to heavy rain in the Western Cape

Many roads in the Western Cape are still closed Due to the poor weather, the Huguenot Tunnel was temporarily blocked due to a power outage but is now open for traffic.

Due to snowfall, the Gydo Pass, Op die Berg, and Theronsberg Pass are closed. There will also be no access to Ceres from the N1 highway near Touwsriver.

The City of Cape Town Traffic Services spokesperson, Maxine Bezuidenhout has asked motorists to drive with caution because of the bad weather.
