Police are investigating the death of four-month-old at a day-care facility

Police are investigating the death of a four-month-old at a day-care centre in Boksburg. The mother received a call on Wednesday, shortly after dropping off her child, informing her that he was not breathing.

The family stated that police are awaiting post-mortem results to determine the cause of death. They are urgently seeking justice for the baby, who was in the care of staff at the Happy Owl Day Care Centre in Boksburg.

According to the family, the mother was contacted by caretakers when they discovered the baby, named Mbuso, was not breathing during a nappy change. On social media, the baby's aunt expressed scepticism about the day-care’s transparency regarding the incident.

Meanwhile, the African National Congress Youth League has urged parents with children at the day-care to withdraw them until the investigation is completed.
