The family of Moroadi Cholota, Ace Magashule's former personal assistant, is concerned by delays in her bail application. At her second court appearance yesterday, the state opposed her release, alleging her involvement in the looting of a R255 million asbestos tender and Magashule's money laundering.
Although Cholota's family was hopeful in court,
the magistrate refused to hear oral arguments and instead ordered written
submissions. Cholota's father believes there are deliberate
attempts to keep her in custody, and that she is being treated unfairly, even
though they believe justice must take its course.
The bail application will return to court tomorrow for the defence’s written arguments.
