Three killed, six others seriously injured in Hout Bay

No arrests have been made as yet following the murders of three foreign nationals in Hout Bay over the weekend.

The police’s André Traut said unknown gunmen shot and killed three Somalians and leaving six others seriously injured in Imizamo Yethu, on Friday.

"At around 19:30, unknown gunmen opened fire at the occupants of three spaza shops in Molokwane Street in Imizamo Yethu. Three adult males did not survive the onslaught on their lives while six others were admitted to hospital with serious gunshot wounds, said Colonel André Traut, Western Cape police spokesperson.

He added that provincial Serious and Violent Crime detectives were pursuing leads.

Community members believe the incident is related to extortion, but police say the motive for the attacks ae unknown at this stage.
