A 38-year-old police officer was arrested on Wednesday morning for being in possession of drugs and a prohibited firearm.

officer Swaartbooi said Khayelitsha police members acted on information and
proceeded to an address.
“The
targeted operation saw the forces descending on property in Kumande Bali Street
at around 06:10. Upon entering the premises they searched the occupant, and the
premises, confiscating a 9mm pistol with ammunition and six ecstasy tablets
which resulted in the detention of the 38 year old constable” said Swaartbooi.
The
constable is expected to make a court appearance in the Khayelitsha
Magistrate’s court on the mentioned charges.
