Chairperson of Umalusi
Yonus Ballim has addressed the public with the approval to release the 2024
matric results.
Results are available online, but candidates will receive their individual National Senior Certificate (NSC) tomorrow.
Luckily there were no systemic irregularities reported.Ballim states that any candidates who are guilty of any irregularities and dishonesty will be blocked. He says the number of irregularities remain a concern and will be reviewed on March 14th.
The National Certificate Vocational (NCV) a qualification that FET colleges offer were written by 138 000 candidates. The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) is allowed to block all candidates access to view their results if they did not comply with the rules and regulations.
Umalusi stated that
they would like clear communication between The Department of Higher Education
and Training DHET and them to avoid unnecessary mistakes from happening in the
future. Umalusi is expected to send a letter to director general of the DHET.
Out of 810 900 NSC candidates who were registered to write their matric examination only 810 000 only wrote. Umalusi were pleased that no question papers were leaked during the 2024 matric examination period, making it the fourth year that no examination papers were leaked.
Ballim concluded and
congratulated the class of 2024 for completing their school career and
encouraged those who did not make it to not give up or lose hope.
