Western Cape police search for two suspects who allegedly shot a police officer

Western Cape police have launched an extensive manhunt for two suspects who fatally shot an off-duty officer during a robbery in Mfuleni on Sunday.

Constable Ayanda Moyikwa spotted a robbery while picking up a coworker on his way to work and responded to the robbery.
Two suspects then shot and killed the 32-year-old, stealing his wallet and cell phone.
Lieutenant-General Thembisile Patekile, the provincial police commissioner, denounced the death and promised to utilize all available means to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“We have set up a team to track those suspects, and find them, because we’ve got to find them. We are starting the beginning of the year in a bad way with the killing of our members”, said Lieutenant-General Thembisile Patekile
