INEOS Automotive South Africa has recalled its INEOS Grenadier, specifically the M1 Passenger Station Wagon as well as their N1 Light Commercial vehicle double cab pick-up.
The National Consumer Commission (NCC) said INEOS
Automotive South Africa informed them that some consumers have reported door
buttons remaining in the depressed position when a door is opened from the
outside. This according to the supplier could cause the door not to fully close
and latch as designed.
‘’These products were made available for sale from 1 June
2023 onwards. These vehicles were made available nationally at SMH Group
Johannesburg and SMG INEOS Grenadier in KZN and Cape Town. They were also
exported to Namibia, Botswana, Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Nigeria and Senegal,’’
said Phetho Ntaba, NCC spokesperson.
Consumers with affected vehicles are urged to take their
vehicles to their nearest or preferred dealerships or authorised repairers to
arrange an appointment to have the vehicles inspected and have all door button
mechanisms replaced.
