Fourth wheelie bin suspect arrested

A fourth suspect wanted for the horrific wheelie bin murder in Manenberg has been found and arrested as cops hunted him down at his family home in Hanover Park earlier this week.

Acting station commander Colonel Harry Brickles revealed detectives had been tracing the fourth suspect’s movements and despite pleas from his own family to hand himself over he blatantly refused.

The 36-year-old suspect was allegedly working as a taxi sliding door operator on the Cape Town lane and was arrested at his home in Hanover Park while playing cards with his family on Monday night.

The suspect has been charged with murder and is expected to appear in the Athlone Magistrates Court today while the rest of the accused will return on 23 May.

The murdered victim’s body was discovered on 6 March as commuters walking along Duinefontein Road saw the legs of the woman inside the bin as the rubbish was removed.

It was later revealed that the victim was an alleged spy from the Fancy Boys gang and was assigned to spy on the Hard Livings gang. The victim was a 29-year-old drug addict from Gugulethu and was last seen alive at a property in Hurricane Street.
