The Ford Ranger model sold in 2024 has been recalled
Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa notified the National
Consumer Commission (NCC) of a recall due to the front lower control arm that
may have been fitted on the left-hand side of the vehicle instead of the
correct front lower control arm.
These vehicles were distributed nationally and exported to
Namibia, Botswana, and Swaziland.
NCC spokesperson Phetho Ntaba said this could lead to loss
of vehicle control and possible injury.
"The separation of the joint may result in loss of
control of the affected wheel, with the corresponding effect on the vehicle handling
increasing. This may increase the risk of a crash or injury."
NCC urged consumers to contact the nearest authorised
dealership for an appointment to have the defect repaired.
